Here's the thing about Love - no matter that it is universal, pervasive, no matter that we have all had our own trysts with this universal emotion, we are all still suckers for a well-told love story. The latest demonstration of the power of a love story is via a ten- minute short, created by south-Indian actor Sundeep Kishan (movie buffs will remember him as the Sawan of Shor In The City). Kishan, for his own pleasure, created a 10-minute short titled A Silent Melody. The story of how love came to a deaf- mute, differently-abled girl is written and directed by Prasanth Varma and features actors Prachi Thaker and Kunal Kaushik. Kishan did no promotions, created no "social media" buzz, engaged in no "viral" gimmickry. He just told a story and told it well - and its power to move has done the rest, making it one of the most viral shorts doing the rounds in the run-up to Valentine's Day.
