Namitha started acting when she was in seventh standard by taking on
roles in serials such as Vellankanni Mathavuwhere she played the role
of Mathavu,Amme Deviwhere she played the role of Devi and Ente Manasa
Puthriwhere she played Anjali.

She made her debut in films when she acted as Riya, daughter of Rahman
and Lena, in Trafficdirected by Rajesh Pillai. She made her debut as a
heroine in the Malayalam film Puthiya Theerangalwith Nivin Pauly. Her
next film was Sound Thomawith Dileep. Namitha's third film as heroine
was Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyumwith Kunchacko Boban in which she
played a Mohiniyattamdancer. She was not trained in Mohiniya­ttam and
learnt the dance steps in Saranya Mohan's dance school in Alappuzha
for four days. Her upcoming film will be Lijin Jose'sLaw Pointin which
she plays a modern, city bred girl named Maya.
